LOVE’s programs are designed to help youth overcome the challenge of violence in their lives and develop the skills to become local leaders against violence. LOVE volunteers learn to use their personal experiences with gangs, drugs, weapons, racism, bullying, domestic violence and self-harm to help other youth make positive choices and together build safer communities.
BC’s chapter of LOVE is run out of the Broadway Youth Resource Centre. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact them at the number above.

The Trevor Project
The Trevor Lifeline: 1-866-488-7386 (24/7 hotline, US only)
The Trevor Project is an organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ youth through a variety of support services and educational programming. Their services include:
- The Trevor Lifeline, A 24/7 hotline (see above)
- Trevorchat, a live support chat, available fridays from 1pm to 9pm PST.
- Dear Trevor, where you can submit questions to be answered on the site’s Q&A section
- Trevorspace.org is an online, social networking community for LGBTQ youth ages 13 through 24 and their friends and allies

Safe Online Outreach Society (SOLOS)

Website provides information on cyber bullying, internet safety as well as links to various resources. Offers programs across B.C including “Youth 2 Youth” which engages high school teens to become experts on internet education and safety by providing them with the skills to teach internet safety presentations to elementary school children.

Provides 24/7 live help line where youth can talk one-on-one, in confidence and anonymously to a support worker. This is a multilingual line, so you can speak whatever language you feel most comfortable speaking in.
Call if you want to:
- Stop a criminal or violent activity that you know is about to take place
- Give info about a criminal or violent activity that’s already taken place
- Get help with other issues you may be dealing with, such as gangs, bullying, harrassment, intimidation, and sexual assault
- Discuss anything else that’s troubling you
