The Looking Glass Foundation is currently working on opening the Woodstone Treatment Facility, which will be Canada’s first treatment centre for adolescents with eating disorders.

In addition to this, they also run a variety of support programs:

  • Weekly volunteer-facilitated on-line support groups for people (16+ y/o) who have an eating disorder (click here to register)
  • A summer camp focusing on wellness and improving quality of life for adolescents and young women suffering from eating disorders

Family Services of the North Shore offers a free support group for parents, partners and caregivers of individuals with eating disorders.

The group meets on the 2nd and 4th monday of every month (except holidays), from 7:00p-8:30p.

Kelty Resource Centre is a provincial resource centre helping BC children, youth and their families to find the resources in dealing with mental health and substance use issues. In addition, being loosely related to the now closed Eating Disorder Resource Centre of BC, the centre also provides information and referrals to adults with eating disorders.

Web site dedicated to raising awareness and providing support to people with eating disorders, and their loved ones. Offers information about various eating disorders, associated dangers, signs & symptoms, cultural issues, treatment options and more. Service includes online support, including online chat and bulletin boards.

The site began as the personal project of a couple who wanted to create a site with information on eating disorders, and is now an affiliated service of the CRC Health Corporation.

The National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 to provide information and resources on eating disorders and food and weight preoccupation. One of our main goals is to inform the public about eating disorders and related issues.

NEDIC develops and disseminates information and resources on eating disorders and food and weight preoccupation, which is available on their web site. They also staff a telephone helpline that provides information on treatment or support from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (Eastern time).

NEDIC is a program of the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada
