CARE stands for Comprehensive Abortion and Reproductive Education, and is a service run out of the BC Women’s Hospital. They offer an array of caring, professional and confidential services around abortion & reproductive education including:
- Counselling services, both for emotional support and information around pregnancy options, including abortion and birth control
- The Pregnancy Options Line, an information and referral service to help women make informed choices around pregnancy: 604-875-3163 or (toll-free) 1-888-875-3163.
- Medical services, including abortion, tubal ligation and birth control.

SFU Health Promotion
Simon Fraser University’s Health and Counselling Services offers services to address both the physical and mental health of the school’s students. Clinics, vaccinations, counselling and physiotherapy are all available to currently enrolled students.

Three Bridges Community Health Centre

Provides free primary care health services by an interdisciplinary team to marginalized populations residing in the West End, Yaletown, Fairview Slopes, downtown Vancouver business district, and downtown South
The clinic operates by appointment Monday to Saturday, and on a drop-in basis 8:30 am to 9:30 am Monday to Friday.
- Pride Health Services offers counselling and confidential health services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered individuals, including confidential HIV/AIDS health care services.
- Infant, Child and Youth (ICY) Program provides services including newborn home visits, child health clinics, parent-infant/toddler groups, speech/language services for children up to age five, child and adult immunizations, and health programs in schools.
- The Adult and Older Adult Program provides services for seniors and people with disabilities, including home nursing, home support, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy; and referrals to meal programs, adult day centres, and assisted living and residential care facilities. Also initiates home-based palliative care and referrals to hospices. This is also a designated agency responsible for looking into reports of suspected abuse and neglect of adults who cannot seek help for themselves.
- The centre also houses the Boys R Us drop-in centre for male and transgendered sex trade workers in Vancouver, particularly the downtown south area. Open 7 pm to 9 pm Tuesday to Thursday, offers a safe and confidential place for connecting with others, including social activities such as dinner and movies. Helps individuals access resources such as health care, housing, and other community services.
Richmond Youth Clinic

Provides free, confidential health education, counselling, and clinical services to young people residing in Richmond. Deals with specific health concerns such as sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, family planning, and nutrition. MSP coverage is required. Hours and location vary:
- Tuesdays, 2-4pm – At the East Richmond Hall, 12360 Cambie Rd., drop-in or by appointment.
- Mon. & Wed., 3:30-5:30pm – At Richmond Place, 8100 Granville Ave., drop-in or by appointment.
- Fridays, 1-4pm – At Richmond Place, 8100 Granville Ave., by appointment only.

Provides free and confidential health care for youths aged 12-21. Doctors and Youth Workers provide consultations to address your physical and mental health concerns, including general medical issues, sexual health (including free STI testing and free birth control), mental health assessments and referrals, as well as addictions assessments and counselling.

Options For Sexual Health offers confidential, nonjudgmental clinical services, reliable contraceptive options, and comprehensive education and information, provided by well-trained professionals. Their web site has tons of information on sexual health, birth control and pregnancy as well as a province-wide listing of youth clinic services. They also operate the Won’t Get Weird info line (link) and provides various opportunities for volunteering and advocacy.

YouthCO is a non-profit organization building capacity with youth between the ages of 15-29 throughout BC to reduce vulnerability to HIV, AIDS and Hepatitis C through peer support, peer education and shared leadership.
Offers individual, group and young women’s support program for HIV or Hepatitis C positive youth aged 15-29.
Also provides various education programs through their Speaker’s Bureau, Forum Theatre Troupe, Youth Training and Outreach Team Programs.

Provides education, outreach and support to the East and Southeast Asian community, and to people who are dealing with issues about HIV/AIDS. Responds to issues that marginalize East and Southeast Asians, such as HIV/AIDS, sexual health and sexual orientation.
- ASIA Line is a free, confidential, multilingual sexual health information line available by phone and on-line chat. Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-9pm.
- Men’s Health Asian MSM group (Men who have Sex with Men) runs weekly meetings. Anyone who identifies as Asian and gay, bisexual or MSM is welcome. ESL is fine as well!
