Surrey Community Services - Counselling Services

Surrey Community Services’ team of professional counsellors offers free counselling with specialization in family counselling, suicide prevention and counselling, and sexual abuse.

SAFER (Suicide Attempt Follow-up, Education & Research)

SAFER provides counselling and support to people who are feeling suicidal or who have attempted suicide, people who have lost someone to suicide and education and support for people concerned about someone who is suicidal.

Child and Adolescent Response Team (CART)

CART provides a community-based response to mental health related crisis involving school-aged children and youth (up to 18) living in Vancouver who are experiencing urgent psychiatric or emotional crisis. Services can range from phone consultation to on-site assessment or consultation, short-term counselling or psychiatric assessment.

Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC

The Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of BC provides several services: The Distress Line (24-hour crisis line), Youth in BC (that’s us!), partial share of 1-800-SUICIDE (in BC) and the Community Education Program that offers workshops in stress & suicide in schools.
