The Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Program is a free prenatal program for pregnant youth (24 and under) living in Vancouver. Clients can self-refer.

 SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Nutrition counseling with a Dietitian during pregnancy
  • One-to-one support with housing, finances and other social challenges with a Support Worker
  • Weekly prenatal education group with a Public Health Nurse and Youth Support Worker
  • Parent infant drop-in groups until baby is 18 months old
  • Free hot lunches provided at groups
  • Food skills cooking classes and demonstrations
  • Counseling with a Youth Counselor
  • Clothing and food donations

LOW INCOME CLIENTS MAY ALSO RECEIVE:

  • Grocery gift cards
  • Free dental hygiene visit
  • Transit tickets
  • Free prenatal vitamins for mom and vitamin D drops for babies

Youth with multiple barriers may apply to access the YPPP maternity clinic, which offers:

  • A medical team that follows youth and their baby
  • Family doctors that deliver at BC Women’s Hospital
